摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a fuel cell assembly, which has an increased catalyst surface area while maintaining mechanical stability thereof. An electric device using the fuel cell assembly is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The fuel cell assembly comprises: a substrate(16); an electrolyte(20) disposed on the substrate, which has a rib protruding out from the substrate(16), the rib having a first and a second lateral surfaces(21b,21a) and a top surface; an anode(24) disposed on the first lateral surface(21b); a cathode(22) disposed on the second lateral surface(21a); and a resistive heater(18) disposed at a position selected from the anode, the cathode, inside of the electrolyte, between the rib and the substrate, and any combination of these. The fuel cell assembly optionally further comprises a low thermal conductivity ceramic layer(14) interposed between the electrolyte and the substrate, or an anode current collector and a cathode current collector, wherein the current collectors are disposed at a member disposed inside of the anode and cathode, between the electrolyte and the anode and cathode, and over the anode and cathode.
