PURPOSE: A method is provided to minimize vibrations during an engine stoppage by varying the fuel cutoff timing in accordance with cylinders when the start key of the engine is turned off. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S1 to S3) of sensing the cylinder which is being ignited when an engine start key is turned off; a step(S5,S6,S11,S12) of setting the fuel cutoff timing in such a manner that at least two cylinders have different fuel cutoff timings; and a step(S8,S10,S14,S16) of cutting off fuel of each cylinder in accordance with the preset fuel cutoff timing.
