PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporative leak check system with long service life and high accuracy. SOLUTION: A check module 10 to check evaporative leak from a fuel tank 2 has a brushless motor 12 to drive a pump 11 to evacuate the fuel tank 2. The brushless motor 12 has no electric contacts, and no wear occurs by the evaporation contained in air flowing in from the fuel tank 2 even when the fuel tank 2 is evacuated when checking for evaporative leak. Therefore, the service life of the brushless motor 12 can be prolonged. Further, operational characteristics of the brushless motor 12 are less changed by, for example, peripheral environment such as atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity or wear. Thus, the operation of the pump 11 is stabilized, and the detection accuracy of evaporative leak is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
