PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely release and recover only a carrier film from a composite sheet composed of a green sheet formed on the surface of the carrier film, without needing a complicated method or device. SOLUTION: The method for releasing a carrier film comprises a release margin forming process to form a release margin for the carrier film l separated from the green sheet 2 in a section from the end part of the composite sheet 3 to its halfway part, using an adhesive roller 4 with an adhesion on the outer peripheral face and a carrier film removal process to retain the carrier film l by pressing it to the roller 4 at a position away from the end part of the release margin region and release the carrier film l from the green sheet 2 by rotating the roller 4.
