PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce Cr-containing steel having excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance and high-temperature salt damage resistance and capable of withstanding use at high temperatures exceeding 900°C. SOLUTION: Material components are adjusted to a composition range consisting, by mass, of≤0.02% C,≤2.0% Si,≤2.0% Mn, 6.0 to 40.0% Cr, 1.0 to 5.0% Mo, >2.0 to≤5.0% W, >0.1 to≤7.0% Al,≤0.02% N, one or more kinds of metals selected from 0.05 to 0.2% Ti, 0.05 to 0.2% Zr and 0.05 to 0.2% V and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
