PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for modifying an insect, by which the industrially useful insect not having a risk causing a genetic pollution can quickly be produced without limiting to an application to a specific kind of insect. SOLUTION: This method for modifying the character of the insect is characterized by having a process for transducing one or more substances into a target region controlling a prescribed function in the brain of the insect to transform substantially all cells in the target region. The method for modifying the character of the insect, wherein the transformation is not inherited to progenies through the reproductive cells of the insect.
