PURPOSE: A method for controlling initial cooling operation of an air conditioner is provided to allow cozy operation of the air conditioner by controlling operating state of an indoor fan depending on temperature of an indoor tube on the initial cooling operation. CONSTITUTION: A method includes the steps of: a step detecting current temperature of an indoor tube during initial driving of cooling operation; a step(104) comparing the detected temperature of the indoor tube with set temperature of the indoor tube at the cooling operation mode; a step(108) operating an indoor fan if the detected temperature of the indoor tube is lower than the set temperature of the indoor tube at the cooling operation mode; and a step(106) stopping the indoor fan when the detected temperature of the indoor tube is over the set temperature of the indoor tube at the cooling operation mode. Wind is not supplied directly to a user until an air conditioner reaches normal operation state thereby.
