<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording body which has a high whiteness, wherein coloring of a white paper part is retarded in an environmental resistance test and which is excellent in the shelf life of a colored image and has a high sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording body has a sheetlike base and a thermal coloring layer formed at least on one faceof the base and containing a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a developer making the precursor develop color by reacting with the dye precursor under heating.
