PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ashtray which enables the sure extinction of a burning cigarette, in which many cigarette butts can be housed in the state of being invisible from outside, and which can reduce labor required for cleaning. SOLUTION: This ashtray 1 is equipped with a plurality of vertically-oriented cylindrical bodies 3 which are erected almost in parallel with one another; each of the cylindrical bodies 3 has an inside diameter large enough to make the cigarette loosely insertable; the length of the cylindrical body 3 is set to be longer than at least that of one cigarette; and the bottom of the cylindrical body 3 is closed so that the cigarette, which is charged into the cylindrical body 3 from an upper opening 7, can be extinguished.
