A projection screen (111) has a total reflection prism lens (114) and a lenticular lens (115) that is provided on the observer's side of the total reflection prism lens (114). Single prisms (113) are provided on the rear side (light incident side) of the total reflection prism lens (114), where the rear side receives image light (L). Each single prism (113) has a vertical angle (lambda) corresponding to the angle formed between an incident face (113a) and a total reflection face (113b). The vertical angle (lambda) of each single prism (113) varies depending on the position of that each single prism (113) on a screen face. The vertical angle (lambda) varies continuously in a range from 30º or more to 45º or less such that the farther from the center (O) of concentric circles, the greater the angle.
