[Also in Division E1] In the type of resilient plastics edge sealing or decorative strip shown having a U-section clamping part 1 and sealing lip 4 for mounting on a flange of a vehicle body window aperture &c., there are at least two ribs on the inner surface of each arm which are at right angles to the surfaces and have side surfaces which converge to the rib ends which are rounded and the mounting part 1 is so formed in relation to the strip that the ribs 6, 7, 8 on one arm, viz., 2, are transversely offset with respect to the ribs 9, 10 of the other arm 3 when the part 1 is unstressed and when the part is mounted on a flange and stressed the ribs move towards confronting each other so as to bear on the flange with the same pressure.</p> |
