PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste transportation monitoring system allowing easy discovery of illegal discharge and thus helpfully preventing the illegal discharge by preventing the pick of waste out of a collection transporting vehicle at other positions than those previously registered in the route of transportation, specifying sites of unloading the waste from the collection transporting vehicle and identifying whether a loading space for the refuse to be loaded is opened of not on the way of transportation and where it is opened. SOLUTION: The waste transportation monitoring system comprises a cover 124 for covering the loading space 123 of the vehicle 120 for collecting and transporting the waste, attachment/detachment detecting parts 127-131 for detecting the attachment/detachment of the cover, a positional information detecting part 121 for detecting positional information for the vehicle, and a transmitter 122 for transmitting to a information center 108 attachment/ detachment information for the cover 124 for covering the loading space in coordination with the positional information for the vehicle in accordance with detection signals from the attachment/detachment detecting parts and the positional information detecting part.
