PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and stably prevent leaking-out of oil from the inside of a sewing machine arm over a long period without hindering the increase in speed, while simplifying structure and installation. SOLUTION: An oil seal 15 is integrated with a rigid plate 13 having the size for covering a peripheral part of a through hole 9 formed in a bottom wall part 8 of the sewing machine arm 1, and bellows cylindrical rubber 14 liquidtightly joined to a bush 7 for supporting a needle bar 4 and surrounding the outer periphery of the needle bar 4 lower than the bush 7, and is fixed in a state of positioning the bellows cylindrical rubber 14 inside the sewing machine arm 1 via the through hole 9, and sandwiching an oil absorber 18 and packing 17 between the rigid plate 13 and the sewing machine arm bottom wall part 8. Oil gathers in an oil reservoir 21 of an upper surface of the bottom wall part 8 of the sewing machine arm 1 and the through hole part 9 on the outer periphery of the bellows cylindrical rubber 14, and is recovered by a recovering pipe 19 via the oil absorber 18.
