PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging system which creates images with high accuracy concerning a change in a blood oxygen level a change in a blood stream caused by a biological function in a subject. SOLUTION: The system gives a stimulation to the subject through the use of a stimulating apparatus 18 to alternately image the subject in the stimulation and during rest. The effective images in the stimulation and during rest are respectively selected form the images by using a statistic processing, so that a region changed by the stimulation, and the quantity of the change are obtained from the selected images.
