<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus capable of saving electric power and stabilizing communications, and to provide a method for controlling the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A clock generating unit 7 is provided for generating an operational clock signal for a period, when communications can be conducted with external devices by transmitting data placed over the radio waves and a power- down signal for a period, when communications cannot be conducted, respectively, based on a control signal. A fast slot counter 20 is provided for counting the operational clock signal, in order to control the period when communication can be done. A slow slot counter 21 is provided for counting the power-down signal, in order to control the period when communications cannot be conducted. A clock control unit 11 is provided for outputting the control signal according to the count value of the fast slot counter 20 and the slow slot counter 21, while making the fast slot counter 20 and the slow slot counter 21 continue to count. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
