The lining module of a flexible material such as a sheet metal, for use in the treatment of fluids, has a central region (5) with corrugations that are inclined relative to the general direction of the fluid flow, and a lower region (7) with a modified structure giving less resistance to the passage of a gas. In the lower region the density of the strip is reduced by at least 10% in comparison with the central region. The lower region can also have cut-out sections, and the height of its corrugations is less than in the central section.
