SUBSTANCE: invention presents a method to produce the carbon articles Of high density, used in the electrode production industry The offered method to produce the carbon articles provides for preparation of a charge made of a carbon filler and a binding substance, formation of semi-finished work pieces and two-stage sintering. At that the first stage conducted at the heating rate of 0.8-1.2 C/min up to the output temperature of 660-700 with holding the work pieces under this temperature for 28-32 h, and the second stage is conducted at the heating rate of 1.8-2.6 C/min up to the output temperature of 1000-1100 C with holding the work pieces under this temperature for 16- 20 hours. At that at the first stage of sintering the work pieces are located in the low part of the sintering furnace spaced by 600-1200 mm from its hearth , and at the second stage the work pieces are located in the upper part of the sintering furnace spaced by 300-400 mm from the sintering furnace roof. EFFECT: the method of production of the carbon articles allows to reduce essentially spoilage caused by cracks in the work pieces, and also to increase their density. 8 tbl
