1323875 Abrasive articles IMPREGNATED DIAMOND PRODUCTS Ltd 12 Oct 1970 [20 Oct 1969] 51405/69 Addition to 1279413 Heading C4V In a modification of the invention of Specification 1,279,413, the abrasive part of an abrasive tool consists of abrasive particles at least some of which are of material, other than diamond, selected from abrasive materials at least as hard as aluminium oxide, embedded in a porous matrix of sintered metal and held in the metal phase, the metal matrix being infiltrated by a resinoid material, the metal phase being continuous throughout the structure of the abrasive part and the resinoid phase being continuous or substantially continuous throughout the structure of the abrasive part. The abrasive particle may be silicon carbide, crystalline cubic boron nitride, tungsten carbide, aluminium oxide, boron carbide, or a mixture of differing materials selected from diamond, and the latter materials. |
