1,090,705. Drawers. R. KRAUSE. Oct. 15, 1965 [Oct. 15, 1964], No. 43820/65. Heading A4B. In a telescopic runner construction, an intermediate member 5 rests between a guide rib 8 on the drawer housing and a groove 7 in the side wall 1a of the drawer. The member 5 is captive on rib 8 by means of stops extending into its channel formation. Thus, detachable pins 13 may extend across either end of the channel and abut against the ends of the rib 8. Alternatively, studs (13a) and (15a) are provided across the top of the channel (Fig. 16, not shown). Rubber buffers 14, mounted on pins 13, project beyond the ends of member 5 to cushion the closing impact of the drawer and the motion of member 5. The inner faces of the buffers 14 coact with guide plate 12 fixed to the drawer and sliding along rib 11. Alternatively, the stop for plate 12 may be constituted by the bent (14c) (Fig. 9, not shown) or deformed (14d) (Figs. 15-17, not shown) end of rib 11. In these Figures, the guide plate (12c, 12d) is pivotally mounted to allow removal of the drawer from members 5 and, in Figs. 15-17, the drawers may be pulled out from either side of their housing. The shape of the groove 7 and the similar cross-sectional profile of member 5 may be varied (Figs. 11-14 and 17, not shown). The member 5 may be made of extruded plastic, reinforced plastic or metal or meal coated with plastic and may be formed on its running surfaces with longitudinal antifriction ribs (23) (Fig. 10, not shown). |
