PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stroboscopic device capable of preventing a situation that the locking attitude of a hook is unexpectedly released, realizing power saving, and made light in weight and small in size as a whole by making a solenoid light in weight and small in size. SOLUTION: The stroboscopic device is constituted by providing a light emitting part so as to freely advance to and retreat from a device body part, and constituted so that the hook of a lock mechanism provided in the device body part is locked with a light emitting part housed in the device body part so as to maintain the housed state of the light emitting part at ordinary time. In the device, the lock mechanism is equipped with a self-holding type solenoid, a link member applying back tension to the movable iron core of the solenoid, and an operation member displacing the hook to locking releasing attitude with the displacement of the link member caused by the action of the back tension. If a solenoid which is not equipped with a self-attracting force generating mechanism is adopted as the solenoid, the stroboscopic device is made small in size and light in weight.
