MHC TETRAMERS

The invention relates to MHC tetramer fusion proteins, to MHC monomer fusion proteins, to DNA encoding an MHC fusion protein as well as to RNA that provides an MHC monomer fusion protein after transcription. The invention further relates to the use of a DsRed protein as a means for tetramerizing MHC molecules, to methods for producing MHC and DsRed containing fusion proteins and to methods for producing MHC tetramers. The invention also describes methods for examining an antigen-specific cellular immune response, especially for identifying T lymphocytes that carry specific T cell receptors on their cell surface, uses of the MHC monomers and tetramers produced according to the invention and test kits containing the MHC monomers or MHC tetramers according to the invention.
