Benzoic acid isononyl esters and their use

Isomeric isononyl benzoate mixtures are claimed which give, on saponification, nonyl alcohols containing less than 10 mol.% 3,5,5-trimethylhexanol. Independent claims are also included for (a) mixtures of the above isomeric isononyl benzoates (1-99 wt.%) with either di-4-13C alkyl phthalates (99-1 wt.%), di-4-13C alkyl adipates (99-1 wt.%) or 4-13C alkyl cyclohexanedicarboxylates (99-1 wt.%); and (b) preparation of isomeric isononyl benzoate mixtures.
