Process for filling tool hollow chambers with a powder comprises pre-pressing a filled first layer (3) and simultaneously or afterwards providing with an impressed contour (7) of a further hollow chamber which is filled with a second powder layer and pre-pressing to impress a further hollow chamber, or pressing with the first layer. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process comprising a die (1) with an upper stamp (4) and a lower stamp (2), and a filling shoe for introducing powder into the hollow chamber formed by the lower stamp and the die.
