PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal intermediate pressure type multi-stage compression rotary compressor capable of effectively eliminating such inconveniences that gas leakage and damage are caused by the deformation of a second rotating compressive element by pressure. SOLUTION: In this rotary compressor, an electrically moving element 14 and first and second rotating compressive elements 32 and 34 are installed in a closed container 12. Refrigerant gas compressed by the first rotating compressive element 32 is discharged into the closed container 12, and the discharged refrigerant gas at an intermediate pressure is compressed by the second rotating compressive element 34. The rotary compressor also comprises a cylinder 38 forming the second rotating compressive element 34 and an upper support member 54 closing the opening of the cylinder 38. These cylinder 38 and the upper support member 54 are formed integrally with each other with tightening bolts 80. The tightening bolts 80 are arranged near the periphery of those positions where a pressure inside the second rotating compressive element 34 becomes high. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
