PURPOSE: A coupling structure of a band for a cathode ray tube is provided to enhance the impact resistance of the cathode ray tube by limiting the maximum stress of the cathode ray tube within a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: A band for a cathode ray tube is used for surrounding an outer circumference of a panel to apply the tension. A radius of an outer surface of the panel is more than 50000mm. A thickness ratio between a center portion and a corner portion of the panel is less than 1.4. A coupling structure of the band for a cathode ray tube satisfies a predetermined mathematical expression such as 0<H<=1.2T where a y-axis is defined as a vertical line to a center point of an inner face of the panel, T is the thickness of the center portion of the panel, H is a center of the tension of the band, and L is the width of the band.
