PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the deterioration of a picture quality caused by camera shaking is conspicuous in a high-resolution digital camera. SOLUTION: An original image OI photographed by an image pickup part 8 is fetched into a frame buffer 16 and transformed by a wavelet transformer 14. A decision part 17 monitors the coefficients of HL, LH and HH sub-bands generated by the wavelet transformer 14 and investigates a quantity of high frequency components contained in the original image OI and when there are sufficient high frequency components, the photographing status of the original image OI is decided excellent but in the other case, a defective photographing status caused by camera shaking or the like is decided. When the photographing status is excellent, the decision part 17 sends an encoding instruction signal 11 to a quantizer 18. Thus, a wavelet transformed image is compression-encoded. When the photographing status is defective, the decision part 17 sends a re- photographing instruction signal 12 to the photographing part 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
