PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin acid composite material having excellent properties unattainable by an alkaline earth metal salt and zinc salt of conventional resin acid based on findings obtained by clarifying the forms and properties of the alkaline earth metal salts and zinc salts of a resin acid. SOLUTION: The resin acid composite material is obtained by reacting a resin acid with at least one kind of material selected from alkaline earth metals zinc and their compounds. A method for the production of the resin acid composite material comprises the reaction of a resin acid with at least one kind of material selected from alkaline earth metals, zinc and their compounds in a solvent containing≥0.01 wt.% water.
