PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetable container suitable for fruit having soft peel such as a peach or a pear in the light of circumstances where since the vegetable container is formed of synthetic resin, its bottom is rigid in a refrigerator having a vegetable container drawable forward in the interior thereof, and further ribs are formed on the base in order to reinforce the base and float the vegetables and fruits from drop of water dripped from the stored vegetables and fruits, so that the surfaces of fruits having soft peel such as a peach and a pear are damaged. SOLUTION: The base in the vegetable container in the refrigerator is an elastic plate where the outer surface of an elastic layer of foam resin is covered with water-repellent flexible film, and the elastic plate is obtained by integrally forming an elastic layer and a water-repellent flexible film covering the outer surface thereof with a foam body of polyurethane resin.
