PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly carry out image processing suiting medical examination, in a medical image processing device, a medical image processing method, a program for executing the medical image processing method and a recording medium storing the program capable of automatically determining an image pickup portion of a medical image and processing the image so that it suits medical examination in response to the image pickup portion. SOLUTION: An image processing condition is specified on the basis of extracted image pickup portion information (step S13), image data is processed on the basis of the image processing condition (step S14), and if the extracted image pickup portion information is not the same as inputted image pickup portion information (No of step S16), the fact is notified to an operator (step S18) since the precedently carried out image processing is not correct (it is not image data suitable for medical examination).
