<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a metal separator for a fuel cell capable of attaining a high power generation performance, continual durability, weight saving, and cost reduction, and useful for manufacturing a fuel cell suitable for uses such as a power-generating device for a next-generation electric car. <P>SOLUTION: With the manufacturing method of the metal separators for the fuel cell to be interposed between unit cells in structuring the fuel cell by laminating a plurality of unit cells, a separator base material is formed from a metal material, is put under surface polishing to adjust its surface roughness within the range of 0.02 to 0.3 μm, and a conductive film of a film thickness of 0.01 to 1 μm formed by a sputtering method or a chemical deposition method on at least a contact face with an electrode of the separator base material thus obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
