PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to produce a light and compact liquid crystal display and to reduce the number of assembling process steps. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display(500) includes a display unit(100), a mold frame(300), and a fixing cap(400). The display unit displays images according to liquid crystals. The mold frame houses the display unit. The mold frame has an entrance(311) through which the display unit is inserted to the housing. The fixing cap blocks the entrance so as to prevent the display unit from being separated from the mold frame. The liquid crystal display further includes a backlight unit(200) that is located behind the display unit, generates lights and provides the lights to the display unit. The backlight unit is inserted into the mold frame through the entrance. The mold frame is composed of three side walls(320,330,340), a top side(350) having an opening(351) for exposing an effective display area of the display unit, and a bottom side(360) opposite to the top side.
