<p>Foldable carrying apparatus (10) has upper (14) and lower (16) frame members hinged together at offset pivot (48). Base (20) hinged to the lower end of member (16) projects from it when it is aligned with member (14). Hinging about pivot (48), however, to collapse the frame, causes automatic pivoting of base (20) towards member (16). This is due to spring (50) urging sleeve (56) to slide up member (16) which action is conveyed to base (20) via rod (64). During pivoting of base (20), flange (70) on rod (64) engages lug (78) on sleeve (74) (by which wheel (26) is mounted to base (20)) rotating it and causing wheel (26) to fold flat with the frame. The frame can carry a collapsible bag so that apparatus (10) acts as a shopping trolley.</p> |
