A method for improving the percent of germination of the seed of plants treated with a phytotoxic substance includes forming a polymeric coat free of the phytotoxic substance on the seed of plants, prior to treating the seed with the phytotoxic substance, where the type of the polymer and coat thickness are purposed for preventing from the phytotoxic contact of the phytotoxic substance with the seed at the same time allowing the sufficient oxygen transfer for supporting the viability of the seed and the sufficient moisture transfer under the environmental conditions, which the seed usually encounters after sowing, in order to enable germinating thereof; and the further treating of the coated plant seed with the phytotoxic substance. Also the seed treated by said method is described. |
