PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in the torque capacity of a continuously variable transmission by minimizing the torque capacity of a clutch, in setting each torque capacity so that the clutch slips earlier than the continuously variable transmission.
SOLUTION: A control system controls each torque capacity so that a series- connected clutch slips earlier than a continuously variable transmission, and varies the torque capacity of at least either the clutch or the continuously variable transmission according to a status related to a slip of at least either the clutch or the continuously variable transmission. A slip evaluating means (Step S21, S22) is provided to evaluate the slip if the slip of the clutch is a slip other than a slip by torque input from driving wheels, and a clutch torque varying means (Step S23, S28) is provided to vary the torque capacity of the clutch selectively according to the evaluation result.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
|
