<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 1 wherein sealing performance is improved by preventing a lip turnover even when using a grease lip 6 of an inward type with relatively high sealing performance when a device 21 such as a joint is of a greased type. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device 1, which is mounted on the device 21 whose sealed space 24 between a housing 22 and a shaft 23 is supplied with grease, has a mounting ring 2 mounted on the housing 22, the inward grease lip 6 fixed to the mounting ring 2 and brought in slidable close contact with the shaft 23 to block external leakage of grease, greasing pressure relief passages 9 formed in the mounting ring 2, and an outward pressure relief lip 8 fixed to the mounting ring 2, brought in close contact with the housing 22 and opened by greasing pressure to release the greasing pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
