PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent bisanil compound having clear fluorescence ranging from yellow to red, and excellent in heat and light resistance, which is useful as a fluorescent dye, an optical recording material, an electroluminescence material, a dye laser, etc., and to provide production method thereof. SOLUTION: This fluorescent bisanil compound emits light of yellow to red and is expressed by the formula (wherein, R denotes a substituent; n is an integer of 1 to 4; and X denotes an aromatic or heterocyclic ring which may have a substituent).
