PURPOSE: A method of an encryption service for protecting contents is provided to generate an encryption key and manage the generated encryption key by using a service program of a server. CONSTITUTION: A method of an encryption service for protecting contents includes the first process(S1-S5) and the second process(S6-S9). The first process includes a process for inputting the user information and the PC information, a process for receiving a component program and a certificate from a server in order to generate an user encryption key, an encoding and signing process using a particular key of the certificate, and a transmitting and storing process. The second process includes a process for selecting contents, a process for downloading a component program, and an encoding process using the stored key.
