<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold a movable plate such as a liquid crystal display in a predetermined tilt position, and to completely prevent idling of a rotating shaft from occurring when starting the turning motion of the plate. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: the rotating shaft which is attached to one plate and enabled to turn; a plastic braking member having curvatures and both extensions, which are closely fitted to the rotating shaft; a resilient piece interposed between both extensions of the braking member; holding metal fittings, which are fixed to the other plate or integrated, and provided with a shape covering the outer circumferential surface of the braking member; and a clamping member acting on an upward extension of the holding metal fittings. The braking member is clamped inside through the curvatures of the holding metal fittings, which results in developing frictional resistance between the outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft and the inner circumferential surface of the braking member. The braking force based on the clamping member always acts on the rotating shaft substantially equally by means of stress of the resilient piece. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
