PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically bending endoscope having a good bending response and operability during an inversion operation of the bending direction of a bending portion. SOLUTION: The electrically bending endoscope 2 comprises an inserting portion wire 32a whose end is fixed to the bending portion 12 of an inserting portion 2a, a sprocket 49 for pulling and operating the inserting portion wire 32a, a motor 71 for rotating the sprocket 49, a joy stick 6a for directing the bending direction of the bending portion 12, and a control portion 17 for controlling the driving voltage supplied to the motor 71 according to a bending directing signal from the joy stick 6a. The control portion 17 has a determining portion 96 and an adding portion 98. The determining portion 96 determines whether to inverse the bending direction or not on the basis of the bending directing signal from the joy stick 6a that changes the bending status of the bending portion 12. The adding portion 98 supplies predetermined voltage for a predetermined time in addition to the driving voltage regularly supplied to the motor 71, when the bending direction is determined to be inverted.
