<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly obtain a deviation of a symbol reproduction timing from synchronization timing with precision. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of correlative value obtaining parts (A, B and C) are arranged in parallel. A plurality of correlative values are obtained through the use of digital reception signals which are sampled from a symbol string, and reference signals which are respectively set in the correlative value obtaining parts (A, B and C). The reference signals are set so as to allow the combinations of the correlative values to correspond to the symbol reproduction timings one-to-one. Thus, the deviation between the synchronous timing (b) and the symbol reproduction timing is grasped on the basis of the correlative value which is obtained in each of the correlative value obtaining parts (A, B and C).
