<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of constructing an optimum optical system for respective semiconductor laser beams different in wavelength, thereby realizing its miniaturization and high-quality writing even in using a light source unit mounted with a plurality of semiconductor laser chips in the same package. <P>SOLUTION: A light source unit 5, in which a plurality of chips of semiconductor laser beams 2, 3 that emit laser beams different in wavelengths in nearly the same direction in are incorporated in the same package 4, is provided with an inclined face 11, on which a coating film having a wavelength selection function is formed, and a reflection inclined face 12 which is tilted at an angle different from that of the inclined face 11 and which reflects a laser beam. Thus, it becomes possible to align the optical axes of laser beams different in wavelength with the optical axis of an objective lens 7, thereby constructing the optimum optical system for respective semiconductor laser beams 2, 3, and realizing its miniaturization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
