PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensor system and its driving control method capable of achieving excellent image capture operations and image processing operations by suppressing irrelevant setting of capture sensitivity in the capture operations for sensitivity adjustments and degradation of image quality of captured images in regular image capture operations, even when subjects to be imaged are mounted in misalignment states such as incorrect or irregular states. SOLUTION: In a system having a photosensor array, a controller 150 extracts mounted states, i.e., mounting ranges and mounting directions, of the subjects to be imaged, and executes operations, i.e., outer edge part extracting operations, range detecting operations and detection area setting operations for setting variably the setting area for reading specific areas of the subjects to be imaged, e.g. areas including future points, included in image patterns of the subjects to be imaged, in response to the extracted mounted states.
