PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oral dosage form of valsartan having a size smaller than that of a conventional dosage form, though valsartan is difficult to formulate and the size of each dosage form of valsrtan obtained by a conventional method is large. SOLUTION: The solid oral dosage form is produced by forming, by a compression method, a composition comprising (a) and active ingredient comprising valsartan and optionally hydrochlorothiazide and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable additive suitable for the preparation of solid oral dosage forms. This oral dosage form has smaller size to the amount of valsartan, compared with a well-known dosage form comprising valsartan as an active ingredient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
