SYSTEM FOR SEARCHING VIDEO USING XML HIERARCHY AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A system for searching a video using an XML(eXtensible Markup Language) hierarchy and a method thereof are provided to manage video data effectively by applying video data and meta data having a repetitious configuration to an XML hierarchy and managing the video data and meta data as an XML hierarchy file. CONSTITUTION: The first input unit(11) receives video data(video file) and meta data. The second input unit(12) receives query data for a video search. An XML hierarchy conversion unit(13) converts received video data and meta data into an XML hierarchy, and reconstitutes the data. A query processing unit(14) defines an Xpath with respect to search query data by reflecting a data structure converted into an XML hierarchy, accesses to the data through the path, and executes a searching process. A memory unit(16) stores a program for searching a video search and stores various kinds of data being used in a search job execution.
