<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse width modulation method and a power converter which can suppress an increase in magnetic noise and further, secure a sampling time long enough to detect a current. <P>SOLUTION: A pulse width modulation method of a power converter, which subjects an output voltage command to pulse width modulation according to a carrier wave and obtains a variable output voltage, is such that when the current detection is not required, the pulse width modulation is conducted according to the carrier wave having a carrier period, and when the current detection is required, the carrier period of the carrier wave is extended to an integral times value of the previous one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
