A belonging group composed of customers is set up. Discount information including a discount rate is created from the record of purchase of the belonging group. The discount rate is varied with the variation of the purchase record so as to calculate points. A point system in which customer information and point information is stored in a card or another information storage medium, the information is read out of the information storage by information reading means when the information is used, the points corresponding to the amount of purchase is added to the stored points, stored data in the storage medium is totaled, and the information is displayed or printed so as to be used as necessary for sale service, wherein client information set including information on each customer and information on each belonging group composed of customers and discount information set including discount determined by shop, commodity, and belonging group are stored in a server system connected to the information reading means and provided on a computer network, and points corresponding to the discount information determined by shop, commodity, and belonging group are calculated when the information is read by the information reading means.
