PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a production method to obtain acrylic resin varnish having a low viscosity. SOLUTION: The acrylic resin varnish having a low viscosity can be obtained by polymerizing a (meth)acrylic ester monomer or a (meth)acrylic monomer with another copolymerizable monomer, by using a polymerization initiator of an organic peroxide represented by formula (1) [R is a 1-20C hydrocarbon residue (excluding an unsaturated aliphatic residue); and R<SB>1</SB>is a hydrogen atom or 1-6C alkyl group].
