PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit a curl of electrode column when nut is crowded and screwed to electrode pillar and the external coupling plate connects, and to prevent breakage of part to inhibit with curl of electrode pillar in significance. SOLUTION: A sealed type battery has a power generation element 1 composed of a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator, an electrolyzer 2 receiving this power generation element 1 and an electrode pillar 4 that penetrates a terminal cap 3 of electrolyzer 2 and that is fixed and that has a part to protrude from the terminal cap 3 to outside as screw part 4A. The electrode pillar 4 is located in the inside of the terminal cap 3, and has a fixed part 4B whose outside shape is polygon. The terminal cap 3 installs a rib 10 to be located in the outer circumference of fixed part 4B of electrode pillar 4, and arranges the fixed part 4B of electrode pillar 4 to the inside of rib 10. Further, the rib 10 lets a center surface that opposes to the central part of each side of polygon of the fixed part 4B protrude more than both side faces that opposes to both side parts of each side of polygon.
