The compound component (10) for a vehicle bodywork, and especially the roof, has an outer skin (12) which is free of fibers and a fiber-reinforced carrier structure (16) at the inner side of the outer skin to strengthen it. A threshold layer (18) is between the outer skin and the carrier structure, where they come together, with a higher fiber content than the glass fibers (14) in the body (20) of the carrier. The outer skin is a co-extrusion film.
