<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicast system capable of automatically adjusting the speed of streaming and file distribution, etc. <P>SOLUTION: In the multicast system having a plurality of multicast servers housed in the same segment and a multicast management server, each multicast server is provided with a service start notifying part for transmitting a service start notifying packet to the segment, and a distribution speed change part for changing to an instructed distribution speed and continuing a service at the time of receiving a distribution speed change instruction packet.
